Who We Are

All Types Of Plumbing Service Provide

Our Successful History

The Johnson family purchased a beautiful historic home built in the early 1900s in a charming neighborhood in Vaughan. While the house had a lot of character, it also came with a host of plumbing issues common in older homes. The plumbing system was outdated, with corroded pipes, frequent leaks, and inefficient fixtures.

The Martinez family owned a popular bakery that had been a staple in their community in Markham for over 30 years. Known for their delicious pastries and warm atmosphere, the bakery was a beloved local institution. However, over time, the plumbing system in their commercial kitchen began to fail. Persistent leaks, slow drains, and inconsistent water pressure were threatening their daily operations.

Fix It Yourself

Quick Tips & Trick

Water Supply System:

    • Main Water Line: The primary source of water entering your home, usually connected to a public water supply or a private well.
    • Cold and Hot Water Lines: Pipes that distribute cold and hot water throughout the house.
    • Water Heater: Heats the water for use in showers, sinks, dishwashers, and washing machines.

Drain-Waste-Vent (DWV) System:

    • Drain Pipes: Carry wastewater away from sinks, toilets, showers, and appliances.
    • Waste Pipes: Connect to the drain pipes and transport wastewater to the main sewer line or septic system.

Vent Pipes: Allow air to enter the plumbing system, preventing vacuum locks and ensuring proper drainage.

Septic System

  • Septic Tank:
A buried, watertight container that receives wastewater from the home. Solids settle to the bottom (sludge), while oils and grease float to the top (scum). The middle layer of liquid flows out to the drain field.
  • Inlet Pipe: Connects the home's main waste line to the septic tank, delivering wastewater.

  • Outlet Pipe: Transfers treated effluent from the tank to the drain field for further natural filtration.

  • Sewer Pump (Sewage Ejector Pump):
Used in homes where plumbing fixtures are located below the septic tank or main sewer line (such as in a basement). The sewer pump collects and grinds wastewater, then pumps it upward to the septic tank or main sewer connection. It prevents backups and ensures proper flow.
  • Drain Field (Leach Field):
A network of perforated pipes buried in gravel-filled trenches. The liquid waste slowly leaches into the surrounding soil, which naturally removes harmful bacteria and nutrients.
  • Soil:
Acts as the final treatment stage by absorbing and filtering wastewater as it percolates down, protecting groundwater and the environment.

Sump Pump System:

  • Sump Pit (Basin):
A small pit located in the lowest part of the basement or crawl space. It collects excess groundwater or rainwater that seeps in.
  • Sump Pump:
An electric pump that activates when the water in the sump pit reaches a certain level. It pumps water away from the house to prevent flooding and moisture damage.
  • Discharge Pipe:
Carries water pumped from the pit to a safe drainage area outside the home, such as a storm drain or dry well.
  • Check Valve:
Prevents pumped water from flowing back into the pit, ensuring one-way movement of water out of the home.

A sewer pump (also called a sewage ejector pump) is crucial for moving wastewater from lower levels—like basements—up to the main sewer line or septic tank. When it starts to fail, the signs often show up quickly and can lead to serious problems if ignored.

1. Frequent Pump Cycling

If your pump is turning on and off more often than usual, it could indicate a failing float switch, motor issue, or internal damage.

2. Slow or No Drainage

If water or waste is backing up or draining slowly from lower-level fixtures like basement toilets or laundry tubs, your sewer pump may not be working properly.

3. Unusual Noises

Grinding, rattling, or humming sounds can suggest mechanical failure or that debris is stuck in the pump impeller.

4. Foul Odors

Persistent sewage smells around your basement or yard may mean the pump isn’t fully ejecting waste, leading to backups or leaks.

5. Visible Leaks or Rust

Water or moisture around the pump, corroded parts, or rusted housing are signs of wear that often call for full replacement.

6. Tripped Breakers or Power Issues

If your pump frequently trips the circuit breaker or won’t turn on at all, it may have electrical issues or a burnt-out motor.

7. Pump Age (10+ Years)

Most sewer pumps last 7–10 years. If yours is over a decade old, even minor issues may be signs it’s time to replace the unit.

Don’t Wait for a Backup

If you notice any of these signs, it’s best to have your sewer pump inspected or replaced by a licensed plumber before it causes costly water damage or sewage backups.

  • Unplug the Old Pump:
Disconnect the power to the existing sump pump.

  • Disconnect the Discharge Pipe:
Use a wrench or screwdriver to loosen and remove the pipe connected to the pump.

  • Remove the Old Pump:
Lift the old pump out of the sump pit carefully—there may be water and debris.

  • Clean the Pit:
Scoop out any mud, gravel, or buildup at the bottom of the pit to ensure smooth operation for the new pump.

  • Place the New Pump in the Pit:
Set the new pump flat on the bottom of the pit, making sure it’s stable and upright.

  • Reconnect the Discharge Pipe:
Attach the existing or new discharge pipe to the pump's outlet. Add a check valve if not already present.

  • Plug In and Test the Pump:
Reconnect power and pour water into the pit to test if the pump activates and drains properly.
